Alan Smith, HCEOA
The HCEOA, representing High Court Enforcement Officers (HCEOs) across England and Wales, has welcomed a new chair of the association, Alan J. Smith.
Smith was appointed as chair after serving on the HCEOA board since 2008, including five years as treasurer and most recently in the role as vice chair for the last five years. He takes over from Andrew Wilson who had ben chair for the last five years.
Smith said: “Being appointed as chair is a great honour and I will strive to uphold the traditions of the association as we continue to raise our standards of enforcement.”
Beverley Ewens-Davey, Chartered Institute of Credit Management (CICM)
CICM, the world’s largest professional credit management organisation, has appointed former 20th Century Fox and lastminute.com executive Beverley Ewens-Davey as operation transformation lead.
In her new role, Ewens-Davey will help drive the growth and extend the reach of the institute on a national and international basis, taking into account the needs of its worldwide membership.
She joins CICM with a wealth of experience, having served as credit manager for lastminute.com as well as further positions within credit management for De La Rue, Vodafone and 20th Century Fox as international credit manager.
Harris Waseem, Mazars
Mazars, the international tax, audit and advisory firm, has appointed Harris Waseem as a director in the restructuring advisory team, based in London.
Waseem has over 20 years of professional services experience, working with both UK and international clients. He has extensive experience carrying out restructurings for clients in the mid-market and large cap businesses. He regularly advises secured lenders, executive boards and shareholders in situations where businesses are undergoing change, underperforming or at crisis point.
Waseem said he’s “hugely excited” to be joining the restructuring advisory team at Mazars.
Liam Hughes, Specialist Mortgage Group (SMG)
SMG, the group of packaging firms committed to specialist finance, has appointed a new head of its Y3S bridging and commercial business.
Liam Hughes has been promoted to the role after being with the business for over seven years. SMG said he has vast experience in the bridging and commercial sectors, fully understands the proposition and its role within the group and is now tasked with driving significant growth.
Mike Randall, Leasing Foundation
The Leasing Foundation announced that Mike Randall, chief executive of Simply Finance, will remain chair for the Leasing Foundation for another 12-month period. The reappointment will run until the end of April 2022. He served as a director of the Leasing Foundation from 2016 before being appointed chair of the board in April 2020.
Natasha Powell, White Oak
White Oak has announced that Natasha Powell has been appointed as director of risk and compliance for White Oak Europe.
Powell will take the lead on managing the firm’s regulatory compliance risk framework as part of White Oak’s commitment to regulatory excellence. The role will involve identifying, assessing, and reporting on risks; providing oversight and challenge to the business’s execution and adherence to its regulatory obligations; and managing the firms ongoing relationship the UK Financial Conduct Authority.
Powell has over 15 years’ experience in financial compliance and regulatory roles.
