Back for its sixth iteration, the event took place at the Hilton London Watford, and enabled lending professionals to meet their peers, share opinions and have a great evening celebrating the fantastic achievements of individuals and businesses within the industry.
Stand-up comedian Alun Cochrane, known for his appearances on the likes of Never Mind the Buzzcocks, Have I Got News For You and Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow, entertained the audience, alongside Credit Strategy’s chief executive Luke Broadhurst.
The 20-strong roster of awards were won by the likes of Moneyline, who took home the Alternative Consumer Lender of the Year, Evolution AI, who took home Best Technology Partner, and Nucleus Commercial Finance, who won Best Fintech Lender. The evening also saw industry giant Bruce Fletcher celebrated for his outstanding 41 years in the profession, which has seen him hold senior risk executive roles with the likes of Citi, HSBC and finally as group chief risk officer for NatWest Group, with a Lifetime Achievement Award, receiving a standing ovation when walking onto to stage claim his award.
The awards followed the last ever stand alone Lending Summit, with the programme becoming a part of next year’s newly evolved Credit Week – uniting Credit Strategy’s industry-leading events under one banner for three days of never-before-seen cross-sector networking, as well as a suite of top class conference session covering the full lending life cycle and ecosystem.
The week will also be the new home of the Credit Awards, moving to the luxurious Celtic Manor in Wales – which will also play host to Credit Week – on 18 June. Celebrating its 25th anniversary, the awards are fundamental to recognising best practices within the financial services industry and rewarding the work accomplished across the sector.
And nominations for the awards, supported by new headline C&R Software, are now open.
The Lending Awards will, however, remain in its current slot in the second half of next year – with the day also featuring more bespoke roundtable events for Credit Strategy premium members.
Alongside our charity partner Link Financial, the awards also saw attendees raise money for Shooting Star Children’s Hospices.
