Thundercliffe has over 34 years’ experience in corporate, retail and business banking. He has built and developed financial services companies, products, customer propositions and distribution capabilities in both developed and emerging markets.
Dylan Jones, chief executive of IE Hub, said: “IE Hub has gained significant traction over the last 12 months and is now at a point where it needs a reputable chairman to help further refine strategy in a rapidly expanding and complex market.
“The average debt per UK household stood at £63,803 at the end of February 2022. This number is likely to increase further with the rising inflation and energy costs. Given the current economic environment, our mission of helping customers in financial difficulty is absolutely critical. I’ve known Mark for many years, and his standing within the industry will help support our mission of being a leading fintech for good.”
Thundercliffe said of his appointment, “I’m delighted to join the talented digital team at IE Hub. Using the power of technology and data to deliver positive societal impact through affordability assessment has never been more important. I recognise the important role money plays in helping people achieve their hopes and ambitions and am inspired by the team commitment to deliver this.”
