The independent panel of judges comprised some of the industry’s leading experts, including Andrew Brameld, managing director of BNP Paribas Personal Finance, Laura Jones, head of Connected Car Finance and Oliver Mackaness, director of Billing Finance.

Winners included AutoConvert, who won the Best Use of Technology, as judges praised its “communication plans and rules to auto-manage proposal placement”. BMW Financial Services claimed the Company Award for Diversity & Inclusion, due to its “range of initiatives” and “strong activity across gender balance, ethnic diversity and LGBT matters.”

The Innovation Award went to Close Brothers Motor Finance, who the judges thought had created “a great innovative tool” to aid dealers in understanding their stock, and MotoNovo took the Customer Service Excellence prize, sponsored by Kind Consultancy. Its self-service capability received particular commendation.

James McGee, managing director of Northridge Finance, was awarded the prestigious Car Finance Personality of the Year. The judges said he is “a true personality of the car finance industry”, who is “always engaged, informed and has a great sense of humour”.
